Samsung is pushing out a new software update for the Milky way S8 and Galaxy S8+ right now, and information technology looks like the company has decided to limit the customization options for the navigation bar. Well, at least when it comes to the choice of color for the navigation bar'south background, as there is no longer an pick to choose a custom colour from an RGB scale. In fact, Samsung has switched up the available background colors, and the worst of information technology is that you tin no longer use a fully black navigation bar groundwork.
The new colour choices are all lite shades, and information technology's unclear why Samsung suddenly decided the existing options weren't good enough; it could be that Samsung is hoping the new colors will help keep visual uniformity beyond apps. But it's disappointing to see, especially for someone like me who likes keeping black equally the background for the navigation bar. The default white background doesn't get too well with the primarily white groundwork within most apps, as the navigation bar stands out by not being every bit white as the rest of the interface.

The update does bring a nice little icon to the navigation bar that lets you hide the navigation bar or lock it into place (the latter doesn't work inside full-screen apps like Netflix or YouTube). Hopefully, Samsung will run into the folly in limiting the customization options for the navigation bar background and bring them back in a time to come update. For those wondering, yeah, the new update does bring the latest security patch. The update is bachelor in a handful of markets correct at present and should exist expanding to more than countries in the coming days.
